Northern Lights Now – We are actively monitoring active region 2673. Over the last 24 hours it has developed delta features and now looks primed to produce a large flare. The level of magnetic mixing is unusual. Background X-Ray flux is almost at M-class level.

UPDATE 23:00 Sept 4, 2017

Wow – not kidding. This active region has now produced several M-class flares. At least one of those generated a nearly full halo on LASCO. Expect this to impact Earth around Sept 6/7, SWPC will likely post a G2 watch soon.
